Press release privind participarea unei delegaţii a Autorităţii Electorale Permanente (AEP) la cea de-a X-a Conferinţă europeană a autorităţilor electorale, desfăşurată în perioada 26-27 iunie 2013 la Chişinău, Republica Moldova
A delegation of the Permanent Electoral Authority (PEA), led by the PEA President, Mrs. Ana Maria Pătru, participated in the 10th European Conference of Electoral Management Bodies, held in Chişinău, Republic of Moldova, in the period 25-27 of June 2013.  The conference main theme of discussion was the "Code of Good Practice in Electoral Matters: strengths and potential developments". The Conference was co-organised by the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission) and the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Moldova. The event brought together over 100 participants, representatives of 26 countries and international institutions of the European Union, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe - Office for Democracy and Human Rights (OSCE-ODIHR) and the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA). The main topics approached were: European and national case-law, the financing of electoral campaigns and political parties, improving the activity of electoral authorities in order to increase public confidence. On 28 of June, 2013 the President of the Permanent Electoral Authority, Mrs. Ana Maria Pătru and the President of the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Iurie Ciocan, signed, in Chişinău, a Cooperation Agreement between the two electoral institutions. The Cooperation Agreement aims to strengthenthe cooperation between the parties, in order to improve the legislation on elections and referendums. According to the Agreement, the parties have committed to facilitate the exchange of good practices in electoral matters between the two institutions, to consolidate the electoral procedures application, to implement modern technologies, to organise conferences, seminars, symposiums, targeting to improve the electoral process in line with international standards. The delegation of the Permanent Electoral Authority also included the Vice-presidents of PEA, Mr. Marian Muhuleţ and Mr. Dan Vlaicu, the Head of Organising electoral processes department Mr. Cristian Petraru and the Director of Legislation, Parliament liaison and electoral dispute resolution department, Mr. Cristian-Alexandru Leahu.
